Short History

Out of conversations about current events and the rise of conflicts around the world, Artists Helen Ritter, from Arizona and Yi Kai, a Chinese now living in the United States, decided to lay the groundwork for Global Harmony through Art, Inc. (GHtA) in 2004.
Under the umbrella of the GHtA concept an international group for artists has been established to enable and further communication across all dfferences. The members of this group collaborate to promote peace and harmony. Artists get together in a joint effort to work in art mediums, to create art expositions, provide educational workshops around the world, and document these efforts by publishing art books with the work of the involved artists. Thus, GHtA plants the seeds of friendships between artists, non-artists, and art lovers.
Art is used as a non-verbal medium; and GHtA relies on artists from China, the United States, and the rest of the world to expand their communication through their artwork.
On the backdrop of a rapidly changing world, the advent of NAFTA, the Free Trade Agreement with China, and globalization, Global Harmony through Art aims to balance out the economic trade with a cultural and artistic trade.
Yi Kai's based on his Chinese heritage, education, and his years living in China, offers a rare insider's view of China. He helps to organize and execute travel, workshops and exhibitions in his native country. This opens a fantastic opportunity to learn and absorb the Chinese culture and a path to translate what we learn into our art.
Global Harmony through Art will expand its cultural exchanges into France, Mexico, Canada, and other nations.
